Biosourced products deciphered for everyone
presented by
September 24 at 6:00 p.m.
at the Jean Prouvé auditorium
Biomaterials are materials derived from renewable sources. They are often seen as a more sustainable alternative to traditional materials. We all dream of creating projects with this type of material or creating them.
As with any technology or innovation, it is crucial to assess their impact on the environment and biodiversity to ensure they do not create unexpected problems.
- Do they really reduce the carbon impact?
- On a large scale, don’t they risk creating additional pressure on biodiversity?
- Can we manage food agriculture, biofuel production and biosourced materials at the same time?
- Because they are biosourced, are they systematically biodegradable at the end of their life? Or more circular?
- Are there reading keys to appreciate these materials?
Florian Rollin comes to shed some light on these questions.
He is a biosourced products engineer at Ademe. He began his career at the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, at the time of the Grenelle Environment Forum (2009), to work in the building sector. He then devoted himself to the development of biosourced products for buildings, within SCOP Karibati, which he co-founded in 2015. He joined ADEME in 2022 on this same subject, however broadening the areas of application to all sectors.
