Climate adaptation: How to turn a constraint into an opportunity?
Virginie Raisson Victor
October 15, 6:00 p.m.
Jean Prouvé Auditorium
Climate adaptation is a major challenge for human societies, because it modifies our environment, the way we eat, live, move, etc. It is a global transformation that requires us to be resilient.
This climatic constraint is also a source of opportunities for design, because we are working to reinvent everything. This is why the City Design Lab and Focus Sustainable Design invite you to come listen and discuss with Virginie Raisson-Victor, an expert on the subject, to enlighten you on the major projects that involve design.
She is a geopolitologist, forecaster and president of the IPCC of Pays de la Loire (IPCC-PL). A specialist in the adaptation of societies to climate challenges, she has contributed to numerous national and international projects aimed at transforming the constraints linked to climate change into development opportunities. Its innovative approach combines scientific research and concrete applications.
She is co-author of the two Atlases of Below the Maps (2005 and 2007) and the author of two reference prospective works: 2033, Atlas of the Futures of the World (Nov. 2010) and 2038, the Futures of the World (Nov. 2016). ), translated into seven languages and sold more than 40,000 copies.
