Clémence Montagne, director of Design Lab Care and Jean-Luc Barassard, Head of Sustainable Design, are pleased to invite you to the next Focus Sustainable Design conference:
Ecological transformation, the necessary revolution!
Conference given by Xavier Desjardins
November 19 at 6:00 p.m.
Auditorium Jean Prouvé
The ecological transition to limit global warming has not even begun and it is already raising many fears, yet it is the major issue of our time. So, how can we reconcile environmental imperatives and social aspirations?
Awareness of the issue is growing and the effects of climate change are real. More and more plans are being drawn up by states and companies. But on a global scale, the movement is still largely imperceptible. This transition raises very strong fears about jobs, lifestyles and even purchasing power. Demagogues thrive on denouncing environmental policies.
So should we give up before even trying? How can environmental transformation positively reconfigure our relationships with objects, with matter, with others?
In the book La Révolution obligee, written with David Djaiz, they propose that a European path to ecological transformation can revitalize our democratic tradition and that the essential sobriety does not oppose the spirit of conquest and 'innovation. The conference will be an opportunity to debate it.
