The spirit of adventure, environmental values and entrepreneurship

Raphaël Dinelli is a renowned sailor in transatlantic races, he notably won the Route du Rhum and the Transat Jacques Vabre, and participated several times in the Vendée Globe, until 2008.

A pioneer in eco-navigation, he very early on associated an environmental approach to his competitions by creating the Vital Ocean Laboratory Foundation. It thus becomes a pioneer in the use of renewable energies on board offshore racing sailboats, developing solar and wind technologies which will subsequently be deployed in numerous areas such as housing, mobility and aviation.

Drawing on his experience as a high-level athlete and his ecological commitment, Raphaël applies his spirit of adventure to various areas, such as bio-climatic housing and, more recently, low-carbon aviation.

Today, at the head of 49 Sud, he works in collaboration with Bertrand Piccard on the Climate Impulse project, an aircraft designed to fly around the world non-stop and without fossil fuels by 2027.

During this conference, Raphaël Dinelli will share his inspiring journey and show how eco-exploration is the source for bold and sustainable design. He will discuss how an environmental project requires an entrepreneurial spirit, but above all remains a fabulous adventure.
