Sustainable Design Focus - Low-tech innovation and independent living
Focus on Sustainable Design is a conference program designed to enrich our School's culture in the area of sustainable design. It invites renowned scientists, eco-explorers, experts, designers, and architects to share their experiences, visions, and work on the subject.
For this first semester, we are pleased to present four conferences that will highlight innovative and inspiring approaches on biomimicry, health, food, the circular economy, and low tech.
Corentin de Chatelperron
Low-tech innovation and independent living
Corentin de Chatelperron, engineer and eco-explorer of low-tech solutions, has traveled the world aboard a sailboat, the Nomade des mers, to identify these solutions. He has produced numerous television reports on his research and experiments, thus contributing to the recognition of low-tech in engineering and design projects.
Corentin's work offers a compelling alternative to our dependence on high-tech. For several years, he has been experimenting with "Biosphère-Experience," a project focused on self-reliance through low-tech. In 2024, he even tested a new urban lifestyle in the Paris region, combining a design approach with low-tech and autonomous technologies.
He will present his findings and demonstrate how designers can integrate low-tech into their projects.
Pierre Weill will explain how design must integrate the "One Health" approach to benefit the environment and all living things.
